This colloquy, by graduate-student-led collective Project Spectrum, attempts to map out existing discussions around inclusion and equity in music academia, with a specific focus on identifying analyzing the structures academia that work against minoritized historically excluded scholars. 
 Sarah Hankins shares thoughts mental illness, arguing it is gap our discourse. asks us bear witness experiences of those who boldly declare they are “unfit” for pipeline—“unfit” survive pipeline, have access so-called promises at end pipeline. Following Black studies, queer color critique, radicalism, Afropessimism, especially writings Stefano Harney Fred Moten, Hankins’s intervention this colloquy demands pause academia’s system perpetual motion.
